A 30-minute drive from Pine Lodge, there is one of Croatia’s 8 national parks based on the Risnjak mountain range.

Beautiful views from 1528 meters above sea level to the Kvarner Bay, Istria and the Julian Alps in neighboring Slovenia, will take every visitor’s breath away.

Of the fauna in the Risnjak National Park, lynx (lynx lynx), brown bear (Ursus arctos), wolf (Canis lupus), not nearly as numerous as bears, wild cat (Felix silvestris) and chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) are home. Its appearance on the rocky peaks is the pride of the mountain.

For visitors, Risnjak is a very accessible area. All attractions can be reached simply and without special preparations or equipment, except for excursion curiosity and the desire to stay in nature. Thus, the source of the Kupa, a karst phenomenon, can be reached on foot from the villages of Razloge, Hrvatsko or Kupari. Several hiking trails lead to Schlosser’s home on Risnjak, the end of which is a discovery of nature. Along the way it is possible to see game in attractive localities. Sport fishing is also possible, of course, with a permit. Everything that is caught is returned to the river.
